3.0 out of 5 stars Good not Great, April 21, 2011
This review is from: WORX WG165 10-Inch 24-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger with 1 Battery (Lawn & Patio)
After watching the infomercial several times , I decided to purchase this trimmer . I went ahead and bought the 24 volt battery model because of the extra power . After getting it home , I charged the battery for three hours then headed for my yard , I have a medium size yard that normally takes 30 to 35 minutes to trim . I trimmed the entire back yard and got close to half of the front done when the battery died . The bottom line on this trimmer is this , if you have a fairly small yard and you have just some basic trimming to do then the Worx trimmer would be fine . However , if you have a big yard and you have areas of tall grass or weeds youre looking to trim , this trimmer will not get it done . Two drawbacks on this trimmer is the motor is simply not powerful enough to handle tall thick grass . The other is the diameter of the double helix cutting line . It is a smaller line than a typical weedeater line and for that reason it will not handle tall weeds and grass . At the end... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Worx does exactly what I need!, May 25, 2011
This review is from: WORX WG165 10-Inch 24-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric String Trimmer/Edger with 1 Battery (Lawn & Patio)
I am a retired female that likes to help my husband with the yard chores. We live on a farm with a front yard area (that is not pasture) that we like to maintain by trimming and mowing around the landscape and fence lines. The Worx is perfect for me as it adjusts easily for me so I don't get tired of holding it like our heavy weed whacker. I hated our old gas powered weed whacker. It was hard to start, it stunk and it was heavy and loud. I could never get the string to come out either or it would get stuck and my husband would have to help me. I like the Worx because it does exactly what it says it will do. I even edge the walkways now because it is so easy to do. We plug in the charger, charge the battery up and then I use it for about a 20 + or minus minutes. I have run the battery down only twice so far but it has recharged quick enough to allow me to finish the job. We have not had to change the string yet, which is really impressive also. Ours came with two extra lines, which was... Read more

Saw the commercial and bought this unit ,after all they said it could trim around a track 3 times... ordered the 24v Lith battery...well charged it it worked for about 15 min and went dead. I I charged it again and this time it died in about 10 min .. frustrated i called service and was told " to never leave it on the charger betwee clippings and to charge the battery for 4 hr before every use. Having never had it necessary to make an appointment with a tool before in advance. I got frustrated and parked it fo the season ( since it was over ) Now new season is here and I find the battery holds about 1/2 turn of power and will not take a charge..In the world of tools this is high priced junk!
